New Zealand : Returned
aYO MAN! IM BACK!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaa----- k.. as if alot of ppl is awaiting my return.. -__-. hmm.. 18 days and it seems quite long... for some things has changed.. my new lift in my block has started working, which serves all the 25 floors.. and the 2nd old lift is awaiting upgrading.. tat means 1 lift again?! 3+ mins max to get to ground floor _|_. now 25 floors if all got ppl sbs GG! 5 mins YAY. ok la.. dono how to start.. alot of thoughts during my stay in NZ, which i'll try to recall all if possible... k.. i'll start randomly.. and MOVE LATEST ALBUM - GRID IS OUT!! YAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!
Actually quite sian when the day of returning is reaching near, where most of them cant wait to return home, reunion dinner, cny bla bla.. argh.. most irritating festive... when i sorta abit adapt to the environment there, i had to come back to the freaking hot singapore... from hardly sweat to, "from my house to mrt, havent reach, back all wet le". sux~ come to think of the monday COS, and more duties back in Singapore makes mi sick. altho most of us already looking forward to ORD. But i still got a heavy stone that have not been lifted.. which is to get perm Pes C... . which should be in a few weeks time if all goes well.. sian ah.. .stressful sg compared to stressless life in NZ, Auckland.
January 10 2006, 0830pm. Flight to New Zealand, Auckland International Airport. 10 hrs Flight, 5-6 hrs bus ride. Long and tiring journey but time flew fast cos kip sleeping... the plane is the small one.. no screen on the back of the seats.. but got music. It has a chinese section luckly. Most of them are pop songs.. such as SYZ-first day, mayday-zhi zhu, the-myth theme etc. I think im toking crap.. k main stuff..
Our training area is in Waiouru, doono how many metres above sea level. There, we can see Mt Roapehhu, 2700m in ht. A Volcano which erupted in 1995. Actually, Auckland is basically built on the remains of Volcanos.. and cones can be seen in most areas.. The weather can be hot in the day, if there is no wind. The sun is scorching hot but the wind is kewl.. The sky is sooooooo clearrrrrr and clouday. It ROX. There are ALOT of trees.. hu says SG got alot of trees... k la.. cos its a non-city area.-.- the tress all have their brunches cut in the early stage, so as to grow as many trees in an area as possible i think.. There are oso alot of cows and sheeps... and few horses.. the sheeps are xtreme cute.. it goes.. "MMMMMmmeeehhhhhhhhh~" lol. It cows stared fiercely at us but the sheeps ran away when c us approaching. At night,the temp plunges down to near freezing point.. heard that ice forms on the generator that ran the heaters... tatz in december. According to my fren, when he woke up, he found ice crystalis on his sleeping bag.. -_-. freezing pt! It is so cold that even wearing 4 layers (shirt, longjohn, no.4, jacket) + gloves oso can feel cold. Breathing and speaking blows out white smokes.. that cold.. but to the locals there.. itz no kick.. I REALLY DONO WHY! 1 shirt n pants enuff, make us really pai seh infront of the kiwis, especially the NZ female soldiers. The gloves traps the cold inside.. which
makes my hand numbily pain.. We slept inside a big tentage, wif a few "powerful" heaters in it. When i first stay inside, it was rather warm tat i thot i could slp peacefuly in just shirt and shorts.. i was totallay wrong. :< My lower part of my body, especially feet, is frozen... so cold that i was shivering.. even with 2 blanket and 1 thermal blanket.. i was told if possible to slp in underwear under the thermal blanket is it circulates ur body heat to kip u warm.. i think tok kok 1..
the air sure leak.. bd. Ever since, i had my thermal socks on as well, but still can feel cold -____-. Luckily, not every night this cold.. onli the 1st and the last night there. lol. And therez one night the wind is farking strong that it blew away some poles of the tentage... the flip-flapping sound so thunderous that it seems the tentage is going to collapse. But lucky onli 1 night.. 2 nights raining.. i thot it will be damn cold.. but it wasnt.
I was quite lucky in this ex cos i went outfield 1 day and din have a change to sleep out. Was together wif the rearlink guys tok kok and maintain my stores.. thx to my mate whoz too garang. My boss is also good. "Eat already" "No..." "Fuck". -.-. i was using the com Come to think of it, all 3 overseas ex, i did sai gang.. sentry in India, Rearlink and sentry in Thailand and Base storeman in NZ :P.
Food! the food was power.. breakfast got sorta american breakfast wif poriddge, lunch and breakfast got few variety and can choose 1 out of 2 main course.. like chix or lamb. until the day ex started... become non western le.. some stupid rice wif chinese style meat.. and chilli... worst during the actual ex. NZ combat ration... heard that it is good... onli the 2 choc bars inside are good.. the rest... bye. alot of them rather starve during tat 2-3 days.. lol. n i thot our own combat ration was bad enuff. And we actually have supper too, but their supper was oso 1 full meal.. means 4 meals a day -.-
Well.. think tatz abt it. End of the day, We had our end of frame dinner, watch the video as usual, and CO said we got redcon 2A, and was initially given 2 days off. 2 DAYS LEH SONG BO. Booing was soon heard from the whole crowd. Den he said RSM and S3 said too stingy, now we got 5 days! some best battery gets xtra 1 day. got 1 battery got max 9 days song bo.
The ang mohs are kewl and playful dudes... When communicating wif the ang mohs, will like auto try to speak their eccent.. lol. sounds funni. and there were some female soldiers too.. 1 of them is .. oh my g0d
RnR. Basically, sight-seeing in the day, free and easy at night. Location was Auckland.. Its.. a veri stressless and carefree country ware 1 can really enjoy life... its streets are clean, skies cloudy, windy cooling under the bright sunny
day... can c the ppl spent most of their time outdoor.. lying on the fine grass patches read, sun-tanning, jogging on the streets, roller blading, picnics bla bla.. The cars there are like free.. can c tat its juz essential for 1 to drive... as the distance between city and housings are v far... carparks are everyware along the road..
Food. The food there is oso ex.. BK meal is 8+ to 9 bux. Mac is 7+. The size is slightly bigger.. I have tried their mac chix.. it juz tastes nicer.. maybe the bread they used is softer. A bk drink is 3 bux. Subways and BK can be seen in alot of places.. next is mac. Heard that their wanton mee which cost 5 bux, can serves 2 ppl. Acually, even tho the price is high, the servings will not be stingy..
Road. The roads are well build.. road signs are oso clear.. their traffic lights is sort of similiar to ours.. when the red light is shown, pedestrain green man will lit up wif the "DU DU DU DU" irritating sound.. 1 big diff is tat in those cross junctions, when the red light is lit, all the cars will stop and the pesdestrain can walk not juz straight, but oso diagonal.. from corner to corner tat is.. tatz .. so kewl.. nn cross to 1 end and wait to get to the other corner. The bus looks similar too.. not sure abt the fare.. but their taxi fare is .. @#%^ EX. From our airport hotel to city costs ard 45 bux, tat is according to meter.. the meter jumps twice the speed of ours and an increment of 20 cents.. but starts at 40 cents if not wrong. However, a fix price can be negotiated.. and meter charge may not be used.
... The sight seeing places are i think the bez view i had in my life.. 1 word. sugoi. The main attractions there are usually the sky city, sky tower (casino) and .. the strip bars..i din had a chance to take the night view of the sky tower.. cos spend 2 nights at 2 strip bars.. :P first is Showgirls and the 2nd is White House. Showgirls the atmosphere is better wif kewl laser effects.. nice gals too. But of the chio 1 i attracted too dun strip. :< The white house, altho the gals allow u to touch when tipped, but gals.. not as nice as first... din have any feeling until the last show before we left, therez this young cute chix.. omg.. with.. i think no details.. later sound like sex blog -.-. Oh.. the entrance fee was 20 bux.. cheap rite :> but to screw, it cos 150-200 bux. 8 bux 4 drink... 1st time jim beam bueh dong liao -.- No i wont spent tat much -.-. Ang moh gals are really kewl la.. maybe c too much of asian gals..
Really thx SAF for giving mi this chance to go NZ for training.. for this i forgive all the suffers i took for awhile.. Sort of pity those hu din came up... even tho days of training, but the RnR really makes up for it.. after the trip to NZ, it makes mi even more wans to travel overseas.. taiwan, japan and 1 ang moh country!
