ORD Function. 11 May 06
Finally, the last and largest unit celebration is over.. a function to commerate the 11th mono intake battalion tatz going to ORD. Its not free. Each of us has to pay 20 bux... alot of them complained ex.. but i tihnk its ok.. cos 2 years 1 time..
The function begans from 6pm... upon entering the MPH, i understood y we needed to pay 20 bux. cos they hired the restaurant personnels to come to our camp and cook! tables, chairs and even waitress serving drinks and dishes.. juz like in the restaurant. The food is great. If not cause of my braces i would have clear the plate. The night also consisted of a series of games (arms wrestling,beer drinking compy), a 3 parts ORD video which showed some of us being interviewed abt they life in army, and several performances by our superiors... CO, BSMs RSM etc... its pretty cute. Since the battalion has always performed for their superiors, now was their turn.
Some ORD-ed personnels was also invited back to join the meaningful night.. and its very obvious to distinguish between a army guy and a civilian... dyed hair.. long hair.. and 1 even leave moustache, who was a well shaven guy last time... and tat is the freedom a guy gets after ORD.
Everyone was oso given a goodie bag which contained a pen, a mini compass, a poster which contained everybody's face and a dvd-rom. The dvd contains all the videos right from the mono intake bmt days to all the 3 overseas exercises... i havent watch the clips tho.. caues the bag gone after doing saikang... and 1 thing tat quite pissed mi off is: i was asking my bunkmate if he saw extra goodie bag, he replied he took the most important item in the bag, the pen. -_____- i was quite angry.. coz the dvd rom should be the MOST IMPORTANT ITEM. IT CONTAINS THE MEMORIES DUDE. ARGHHHHHh.. shit.. i shouldnt be those sentimental or emotional type.. sry.
When the event is finishing soon, the coupon exchanged tiger beer cans soon became free flow.. and i felt funni after finshed 1 can. im guai kia. Alot of ppl ciao when the desserts was coming and part 3 video was playing... ppl thot the night was over.. but i realized its not as the emcee gave her closing speech.. -.- i wonder wats the hurry of going home... issit becoz of catching the last bus/train or ppl juz wan to book out fast.. i myself wished the night wont end... though it really doesent show on my face. im good at keeping my emotions.
In the end.. my dept has to do the saikang which i dun mind! abt 1 hr saikang in return of 1 day off. ISNT TAT A STEAL? :D
